Goodman, a global leading owner, developer and manager of logistics sites, and its customer Airbus officially opened the Goodman Interlink Hamburg logistics park today. With an area of around 44,000 sqm, Goodman’s flagship project here is one of the largest new logistics developments over the past 12 months in the Port of Hamburg. With its subsidiary Satair Group, Airbus will occupy a total area of approx. 21,500 sqm in the Park. Other customers at Interlink Hamburg are logistics service provider STUTE Logistics and aviation supplier Diehl Comfort Modules.

Satair Groups' move into its second unit at this site also completes the last construction phase of the Goodman logistics centre Interlink Hamburg. The aircraft manufacturer is leasing a total of 21,500 sqm, divided into two interconnected building sections. Goodman developed the second 10,000 sqm unit for Satair Group as an extension of the first unit the aircraft manufacturer leased two years ago. The recently completed property serves Satair Group as a so-called “kit factory” for spare parts logistics. The company benefits from the proximity to the production plant just five kilometres away. A further advantage is in the short distance to Hamburg airport, as the spare parts are sent mainly by air freight.

“The extension of our spare parts logistics in Goodman's nearby logistics centre is a major element of our growth strategy. As a result, we create the necessary space for our growing business and take advantage of the close proximity to our Finkenwerder plant,” said Dr. Tim Bothe, VP Supply Chain at Satair Group. “Goodman has been a reliable partner at our side throughout the entire project phase. Together we have developed a solution that optimally meets our requirements.”

“We are delighted to welcome Satair Group to our flexible range of high-quality logistics space offerings and long-term property management. With the completion of the last construction phase, we set an important milestone in the success story of Goodman Interlink Hamburg,” said Christof Prange, Head of Business Development in Germany. “Only 18 months after Satair Group moved into the first building section, all units had been leased. This result emphasises the high quality of our facilities in a highly competitive market for logistics properties.”

Other customers in the Hamburg Interlink logistics centre

In addition to Satair Group, aviation suppliers Diehl Comfort Modules (DCM) and STUTE Logistics, a 100-percent subsidiary of Kühne + Nagel, are also customers in the Interlink Hamburg logistics park. STUTE initially occupied 5,200 sqm at the property. Only shortly after starting business operations, the logistics services provider expanded its capacity in the park with a second rental unit of 4,500 sqm. With a total area of 9,700 sqm, the premium unit of STUTE– among other things – is used to store aircraft and cabin components.

Germany’s top logistics location: Hamburg

Hamburg is not only the principal logistics region in Germany; the city is also home to the third largest container port in Europe, and it is one of the world’s top three locations for the aviation industry. Extensive market surveys, such as the “Logistics + Real Estate 2016” study by bulwiengesa, confirm the strong attractiveness of Hamburg to a wide range of businesses. In order to be able to offer to its customers’ prime real estate solutions in this buoyant market, Goodman has initiated new projects in Hamburg.

Other Goodman sites

Only a few kilometres away from the Interlink site, Goodman has a 47,500 sqm logistics property in Altenwerder freight village. Starting in summer 2017, 5,600 sqm of logistics space will be available with high-quality equipment. The unit includes around 100 sqm for offices and social areas as well as a 600 sqm mezzanine level.
