Start of training in the port of Kiel

On Thursday, the PORT OF KIEL welcomed the new trainees at the Port of Kiel. The seven young people are starting out in a total of six professions. As part of their training, they will gain a comprehensive insight into the processes at the Port of Kiel over the next few years.
The following occupations are being trained at the Port of Kiel at the start of this training programme Office clerk, forwarding and logistics services clerk and port logistics clerk. After a long break, this year will see the first training for a shipping clerk for liner shipping. This year, the PORT OF KIEL, which offers a wide range of apprenticeships, will also be training an electronics technician for energy and building technology and an IT specialist for systems integration. At a time when there is a shortage of skilled labour, the company has been using new recruitment methods for a number of years to fill vacancies quickly, but also for the long term. The majority of young people stay with the company after completing their training.
Anyone interested in training to become a port logistics specialist can apply to the PORT OF KIEL until 1 September 2024. There are already a number of applicants.
