The transport logistic China in Shanghai was a success for the German seaports. Lively public traffic and many new contacts ensured a good atmosphere at the joint stand of the seaports of Hamburg, Bremen and Lower Saxony.

After a break of six years, more than 700 national and international exhibitors came to the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The Port of Hamburg was also represented at the 120 square meter joint stand of German Ports. "The Chinese market is of particular importance to us. Around a third of the containers handled in Hamburg come from China or have their destination there. It is therefore a matter of course for us to be present at transport logistic China in order to maintain existing contacts and make new ones. This trade fair is an excellent place for this," says Inga Gurries, Head of Market Development Asia Port of Hamburg Marketing.

One of the highlights was the visit by the Federal Minister of Transport, Volker Wissing, who acknowledged the presence of the German seaports in Shanghai. In addition, Hamburg co-exhibitors Eurogate, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, HIW Hamburg Invest, Metrans and TSIT were able to make many contacts and initiate business. "The trade fair was a complete success for us. We were able to reach many new customers who are willing to make use of our services. We were particularly successful in the automotive sector," says Sarah Yu, COO at TSIT.
According to the Munich trade fair company, the first transport logistic China took place in 2004 on around 22,000 square meters of exhibition space. Today, the trade fair has developed into a global platform for the logistics industry and international interest continues unabated, according to the trade fair company.
